GOALS - Plant Service Technician

After finishing this section you should understand and be able to explain to your customers what it means that your business is a NILA authorised company and what the most important benefits are.

  • That you understand and can explain to your customers what it means that your business is a NILA authorised company.

All member companies in NILA shall attempt to be authorised. In order to become an authorised NILA member, your company must meet certain minimum requirements.


It makes it easier for the company to convince the customer that they are dealing with a professional company.

So lets start the traning today!

To be a certified member of NILA the company must


  • Be working according to NILAs quality requirements for the delivery and care of live plants.
    Comment: NILA's quality requirements will appear later in the course. It is the foundation on which daily work is based.
  • Have a well-reviewed environmental policy and ensure that employees are kept informed about the environmental work.
  • ​Have a sound economy.
  • ​Have liability insurance.
    Comment: One day it happens what should not happen: you spill water on your customer's precious carpet. ​​Then it is good to know that there is a liability insurance that covers the damage.
  • ​Educate its employees in NILA's education program.
  • ​Have an internal controller.
    Internal controller is a function you may not have heard about before.
    He/She can:
    Keep check that everything is going according to plan, and report to the board or another manager.
    Make sure that products or services are up to standard and of the quality that the customer can expect.
    Check that everyone is working safely according to the rules that apply, ​​and work with improvements in regards to the working environment.
  • ​Actively participate in NILA's work.
    Comment: This could mean that a representative takes part in the annual meetings, participate in projects or is a member of the NILA board.
